Conversion

Donny was raised in a conservative Baptist church. He was very active in church all of his life and maintained what would have looked like on the outside a decent, moral life. In reality, in the words of Christ, he was like a white-washed tomb; clean on the outside, but full of sin and corruption on the inside. It was as a young college student that he was convicted of sin, and by God's grace turned to faith in Christ.

Family

Donny is married to his British bride, Jane. They have been married since 1986. Donny and Jane met in Spain in the early 80s, where they both served as missionaries. Donny and Jane have 7 children and two grandchildren.

Education

Donny earned his BS in Spanish and Education from Middle Tennessee State University, MA in Ministerial Studies from The Evangelical Institute of Greenville, SC, and an MA in Biblical Counseling at The Masters College, CA.

Ministry

Early on Donny taught in a couple of different Christian schools. He served as an elder at Southside Baptist Church in Gallatin, TN. He spent 4 years as a church planting missionary in Spain. He is an ACBC Certified Biblical Counselor. Donny is involved with Overseas Training in Counseling (OIC). He has traveled to France and has been involved in teaching Biblical Counseling there to pastors and lay leaders. All in all, he has spent the last thirty-five years in Christian ministry.

Currently, Donny pastors at Grace Baptist Church, Hartsville, TN, where he has served full time since 1995. He serves there with 3 other elders, and is involved in pastoral ministry, preaching, and counseling.

Research Interests and Hobbies

Donny loves to walk for exercise. He and Jane walk together nearly everyday. He enjoys reading, sports of all kinds, and spending time with his adult children and his and grandchildren. He also continues to grow in his studies of Biblical Counseling.
