Graduate Profile: Jake Magee, M.T.S.

I was brought to a saving knowledge of Christ in 1989. I was raised in a nominal Catholic home, having enough knowledge to fear God, but not enough to embrace Jesus. I was exposed to the simplicity of the gospel at a mid-week church gathering as a teenager. Through the preached Word, both the gravity of sin and the greatness of God’s grace in Jesus seized my heart.

With new birth came an aspiration for ministry. I accepted the call to serve as a full-time associate pastor at Oasis Church in Southern California from 2003 to 2013. In spring of 2013, I accepted the call to serve as Senior Pastor at Shelton First Baptist Church in Washington State.

With no hesitation or fear of hyperbole, my studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary from 2009 to 2013 have been absolutely indispensible for this new call. I have deeply appreciated the sensitivity to and emphasis on integrating theological studies for pastors who are already serving in ministry. May God continue to use RBS to equip men to lead churches that make disciples.
