Application Checklist

  1. Read the current student handbook (see below).

  2. Complete the “Assessing My Priorities” time-budget worksheet in Appendix B of the handbook.

  3. Request your previous institution to send official transcripts via email. If you need to transfer credit see here for more details.

  4. If English is your second language, take the TOEFL exam (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The required score for the Internet based version of the exam is 94 or higher. The exam can be taken online through Educational Testing Services.

  5. Read one or more of these articles:

  6. Talk with three (two for the Certificate Program) friends and/or family members about your intention to pursue theological education with RBS and confirm they will serve as personal references for your application. Submit their email addresses on your application, and we will email them online reference forms to complete after you submit your application.

  7. Talk with one of your pastors about your desire to pursue theological education at RBS and whether he will serve as your mentor. Have him read the Mentor-Proctor handbook (see below) before your interview (A mentor is not required for the Certificate Program).

  8. Start your application via the link below.
    Note: you will receive an email after you complete the initial brief application form. You can then work on your application at your own pace, and it will save your progress; so you do not need to complete it all at once. You will be prompted to pay your application fee when you click the “Submit Application” button at the bottom of your completed application.

You may apply throughout the year. An applicant, if accepted, may enroll within the first five weeks of our twenty-week semesters. Applicants accepted after that time will have to wait until the following semester to enroll. To check the academic calendar click here.

After your application is complete with all transcripts and references, the dean will contact you and set up a time for a phone or video interview with you and your mentor. If you are accepted, we will notify you and provide you with the steps for paying your enrollment fee, getting your Logos package and registering for courses.
